Yoosee Camera App Not Loading or Crashing? How to Fix It

11 min read ·

Ứng dụng Yoosee trên điện thoại hiển thị thông báo chuyển động

When the yoosee camera app closes on launch, sits on an endless loading spinner, or stopped working right after a phone update, the cause is usually on the phone rather than the camera. Work through it in this order: force-stop and reopen, clear the cache, check permissions and battery limits, update the app, and only then reinstall. Cameras added to the app are normally saved to your account rather than only to the phone, so a reinstall should not remove them as long as you know your login.

This article is about the Yoosee app itself misbehaving. If the app opens normally but a camera tile says offline, that is a different problem with a different fix — see how to bring an offline Yoosee camera back online.

First, name the symptom you actually have

"The app is not loading" covers several different failures, and each points somewhere different. Spend a minute matching yours before you start tapping things.

  • The app closes the moment you open it, or shows the splash screen and then disappears. This is a crash. It usually means corrupted cached data, a version that does not agree with your phone's operating system, or a missing permission the app needs at startup.
  • The app opens but the camera list never appears, and a spinner keeps going. This is usually a connection or login problem: the app cannot reach its servers, or it is stuck trying to restore an old session.
  • The camera list appears, but tapping a camera loads forever. The app is fine; the video stream is the problem. That is closer to a camera or network issue, so the offline guide linked above is the better starting point.
  • Everything broke right after a phone update. The operating system update may have reset permissions or tightened background limits, or your app version may need an update to work with the new system.
  • It only fails on mobile data, or only on WiFi. That points at the network the phone is on, not at the app.

Keep the symptom in mind; the sections below say which checks matter most for each one.

Step 1 — Force-stop and reopen

Swiping the app away is not always enough, because the phone may keep part of it in memory. A proper force-stop clears that.

On Android: open Settings, go to Apps (sometimes called Applications or App management), find the Yoosee app, and tap Force stop. Then open it again from the home screen.

On iPhone: swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause to see open apps, then swipe the Yoosee app upward to close it. Wait a few seconds and reopen it.

While you are at it, restart the phone. It sounds too simple, but a restart clears stuck network connections and background services that the app relies on, and it is a common fix after a system update has just been installed.

Step 2 — Check the network the phone is using

A loading spinner on the device list often means the app simply cannot get online.

  1. Open a web page in the phone's browser. If that is slow or fails, fix the phone's connection first.
  2. Switch between WiFi and mobile data. If the app loads on one and not the other, the problem is that network. Some public, office or hotel WiFi networks block the kind of traffic camera apps use.
  3. Turn off any VPN, ad blocker or "private DNS" setting for a test. These can block the app's servers without any clear error message. On Android, private DNS sits under the network or connection settings.
  4. Check that the app is allowed to use data. On iPhone, go to Settings, Mobile Data (or Cellular), scroll to the app and make sure it is switched on. On Android, open the app's info page, then Mobile data or Data usage, and allow background data.

If the app now loads its list but cameras still will not open, move on to the camera side rather than the app.

Step 3 — Clear the cache (Android) or offload the app (iPhone)

Corrupted cached data is a frequent cause of a crash on launch, especially after an app update.

On Android: Settings, Apps, the Yoosee app, Storage, then Clear cache. Open the app again. If it still crashes, go back and tap Clear storage (or Clear data). Clearing storage signs you out and resets the app's local settings, so make sure you know your account login first. It should not remove your cameras from your account.

On iPhone: iOS has no clear-cache button for most apps. The nearest equivalent is Offload App: Settings, General, iPhone Storage, find the app, then Offload App and Reinstall App. Offloading removes the app but keeps its documents and data, so it is a gentler step than a full delete. Menu names may differ slightly by iOS version.

Also check how much free space the phone has. When storage is almost full, apps can fail to start or freeze while loading. Clear some photos, videos or unused apps and try again.

Step 4 — Check permissions, especially after a phone update

A system update can reset or tighten permissions, and an app that expects a permission at startup may hang or close without one.

Open the app's settings page on your phone and review:

  • Local network (iPhone). Many camera apps use this to find and talk to devices on your WiFi. If it is off, cameras on your home network may fail to load. You find it under Settings, Privacy and Security, Local Network.
  • Camera. Needed for scanning QR codes during pairing. If the app crashes exactly when you try to add a device, this is a likely cause.
  • Microphone. Used for two-way talk. A missing microphone permission usually breaks only the talk button, not the whole app.
  • Location. On some phones, especially Android, location access is needed to read WiFi network names during setup.
  • Photos or storage. Needed to save snapshots and recordings to the phone.
  • Notifications. These do not stop the app loading, but a reset after an update is why alerts often go missing at the same time. The full fix is in getting Yoosee alerts working again.

Menu names differ slightly between phone brands and system versions, and the exact permissions requested may vary by app version, so allow what the app asks for and decline anything that seems unrelated.

Step 5 — Remove battery and background limits

Aggressive battery management does not usually cause a crash, but it can make the app freeze, lose its connection and show a spinner when you come back to it.

On Android: open the app's info page, then Battery, and choose Unrestricted (wording varies: "No restrictions", "Don't optimise"). Some manufacturers also have a separate auto-start or protected-apps list in the phone's own battery or security app; add the Yoosee app there too.

On iPhone: turn off Low Power Mode for a test, and make sure Background App Refresh is on for the app under Settings, General, Background App Refresh.

Step 6 — Update the app, and check your phone's system version

Old app versions can stop loading when the server side changes, and new app versions can drop support for very old phone systems.

  1. Open Google Play or the App Store and search for the app. If you see an Update button, tap it.
  2. Only install from the official store. Copies of camera apps from file-sharing sites or forwarded install files can be outdated or tampered with, and they can cause crashes that are hard to explain.
  3. Check your phone's system version under Settings, About phone (Android) or Settings, General, About (iPhone). If the store says the app is not compatible with your device, the current version needs a newer system than your phone has. Check whether a system update is available.
  4. If the problem started right after an app update, check whether a newer update has appeared over the next few days, and look at the store's recent reviews to see whether others report the same thing. In the meantime, clearing the cache (Step 3) sometimes helps after an update.

Step 7 — Reinstall without losing your cameras

If nothing above helped, a clean reinstall is the next step. Done properly, it is safe.

Before you uninstall:

  1. Confirm your account login. Note the phone number or email you registered with and make sure you know the password. If you are not sure, reset it first — the steps are in recovering a forgotten Yoosee password.
  2. Check whether you are the owner or a shared user of each camera. Shared cameras should reappear when you sign in, as long as the owner has not removed the share; if one does not, ask the owner to share it again.
  3. Save any recordings you need from the phone's gallery or the app's local download folder. Footage saved only inside the app on the phone can be lost with the app. Footage on the camera's memory card is not affected.

Then:

  1. Uninstall the app (on iPhone, long-press the icon and choose Remove App, then Delete App).
  2. Restart the phone.
  3. Install the app again from the official store.
  4. Open it and allow the permissions it asks for — this is the moment many problems get fixed, because the app asks fresh.
  5. Sign in with the same account. Your cameras should reappear, though their thumbnails may take a moment to load.

If you sign in and the list is empty, the most likely reason is a different account: perhaps you once registered with an email and are now using a phone number, or the other way round. Try the other identifier before assuming the cameras are gone. If a camera really is missing, you can add it to the app again — depending on the model and whether it is still bound to another account, this may or may not require resetting the camera first.

When the app works on another phone

A simple test settles whether the problem is the app or your phone: install the app on a second phone or tablet and sign in with the same account.

  • It works on the second device. The account and cameras are fine; the problem is your first phone. Concentrate on its storage, permissions, battery settings and system version.
  • It fails the same way on both. The problem is more likely the account, the network both phones share, or a temporary service issue. Try mobile data on one device to rule out the home network.

Depending on the app version, signing in on the second phone may sign out the first. If that happens, it is not a fault; just sign back in on your main phone afterwards.

When to get help

Stop troubleshooting on your own and contact the seller or official support if:

  • The app crashes on launch even after a clean reinstall on an up-to-date phone.
  • The app works on a second device but never on yours, and you have already checked storage, permissions and battery settings.
  • You sign in and see an error about the account itself, such as a locked or unknown account.
  • Every camera loads forever on every phone and every network.

Have this ready when you ask: your phone model and system version, the app version (shown in the app's settings or About page, or on its store page), the exact error text or a screenshot, when it started, and what you have already tried. Never send your account password to anyone in a chat; genuine support does not need it.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the Yoosee app keep saying "loading" but never shows my cameras?

The app cannot finish talking to its servers or restoring your login. Test the phone's internet in a browser, switch between WiFi and mobile data, and turn off any VPN or private DNS setting. If it still hangs, clear the app's cache and sign in again.

Will clearing the app's data or storage remove my cameras?

It should not. Clearing data signs you out and resets settings stored on the phone, while the camera list is normally kept with your account. If the list is empty after signing in, check you used the same email or phone number you registered with. Recordings saved only inside the app on the phone may be lost, so save those first.

The app stopped working after I updated my phone. What changed?

System updates often reset permissions such as local network access, or tighten battery limits on background apps. Re-allow local network access and set the app's battery use to unrestricted, then check the store for an app update made for the new system.

Can I use an older version of the app if the new one crashes?

It is better not to. Old versions from outside the official store may be tampered with, and they can stop connecting when the service changes. Wait for a fix through the official store, and report the crash with your phone model and app version so it can be investigated.

Why does the app work on my tablet but not on my phone?

That points at the phone, not the account or the cameras. Put the two devices side by side and look for the one difference: a VPN or private DNS on the phone, a permission switched off, a battery restriction, or almost-full storage.
